WHAT'S IN A NAME?
Mick Mars, the former lead guitar player for the band Motley Crue said it best, "shitty name, shitty band" and the same can be said about podcasts, shitty name, shitty podcast. I don't want to discourage you but there are approximately 4 million podcasts worldwide and close to 1.8 million in the Untied States. If you don't have a memorable name that creates familiarity and sticks immediately in the listeners mind, good luck getting traction regardless of how much flair you bring to your podcast. In radio, we call it creating "top of mind awareness". If someone asks the question, "what podcast do you listen to", the person answering better utter the name of your podcast out of their mouth first and fast or you're not top of mind enough.
The challenge with so many podcasts is not only finding a name that's sticky, but you also want to secure the dot com, and make sure your name is available consistently across every social media platform so when people go to look for you, they only have to recall one name to access your content. If you can't find a name that meets this criteria, I highly recommend you keep brainstorming until you discover one that allows you to have brand consistency.
After you've secured a memorable name that's easy to find across multiple podcast and social media platforms, your ready to move on to your next challenge of launching a new podcast. Developing an eye catching logo that clearly states what your brand is and what your podcast is about. If you're lucky, you'll find a name that will do both.
Fortunately for you, the Oz Podcast Group can help you research names, design a tremendous looking logo, and set you up with hosting that will get you on the most popular podcast platforms and supply you with all the technical tools you need to launch your podcast.
